(If you’re designing a fence for your very first garden that hasn’t been dug yet, you might consider shrinking the garden some so that the fence fits your budget, rather than try to make the budget fit the fence.).What materials might I already have on hand to put towards the build? (Think scrap lumber, chicken wire, metal stakes, etc.). ![]() Is your garden a plot in the yard or a raised bed? (Cucumbers, tomatoes, peas, beans, etc can all be trained up the fence to both maximize garden space and minimize the work of installing extra plant supports over the season.).Am I trying to keep anything out (deer, pets, kids), or is it purely for looks? (Some dogs, for example, will respect even a 12-inch tall boundary, where others need 3-4 feet tall to understand “stay out.”).In general, the things you’ll want to consider when designing your DIY garden fence are: We do, however, have rabbits and neighborhood cats that occasionally come and go despite the fenced yard, but most importantly I’d like to keep my rough-housing dogs from trampling our plants while they play! Because of that, I don’t have any need to build a super tall deer-proof fence for that reason. We have a fully fenced back yard, which is lucky for us since it keeps the deer out of our garden. ![]() Brent was really excited about the creativity and ingenuity behind the CubeRinth and asked if we would be interested in making a supersized version of the CubeRinth for them. How did TwoBit Circus find out about the CubeRinth?Īt Maker Faire Bay Area this past May we introduced the CubeRinth Maze Kits, and while there, we had the opportunity to meet Two Bit’s CEO, Brent Bushnell. Use rubber bands to create different maze configurations in the smaller CubeRinthĪgain, with the encouragement of many in the Make community, we asked ourselves, could we make the CubeRinth into a kit that anyone could build and play with? We now have the CubeRinth kits! The CubeRinth was born: a three-dimensional acrylic cube with removable peg board shelves. While working on V2.0 we wondered if it would be possible to make a 3D version that worked in the same way as the 2D versions. With V2.0, I was introduced further to the world of Arduino and coding by our mentor Erin Kennedy from. With the MakeyRinth V2.0, we kicked it up a notch and created a super-sized version with a 64-LED matrix, which scrolled text. The game can be played by two to four people, and is customizable. Having been inspired by a video presentation during Maker Camp on their concept of super-sizing games, we decided to super-size the labyrinth idea by making the MakeyRinth V1.0, which was made using a simple 24-by-24-inch piece of plywood, a pegboard, wood pegs and rubber bands, which were used to create your own mazes. During the games week, one of the projects to build was a Labyrinth out of scrap pieces of wood. Julie Hudy encouraged us to participate in Maker Camp. We were introduced to the world of making after meeting Joey and Julie Hudy at a local Maker Fest event. The idea for the CubeRinth began when we participated in an online camp called Maker Camp. Where did you get the idea for the CubeRinth? Then, the user rotates the cube over and navigates the ball back through new mazes to the top again! There are a total of eight mazes within the cube to play. The game is played by dropping a marble in at the top, playing the bottom maze, and entering the goal. ![]() Using pegs and rubber bands, players can create an infinite number of maze combinations on the five pegboards enclosed in the in the acrylic cube. ![]() ![]() The CubeRinth is a three-dimensional acrylic cube with removable pegboard shelves. The release of her debut album in May of 2021 will hopefully continue to highlight Rodrigo’s musical strength and fantastic writing. With over 21 million views on YouTube and 19 million streams on Spotify, Rodrigo has proved her talent and passion for her craft. The music video comes to a bittersweet close with the haunting image of another woman replacing Rodrigo’s position in the driver’s seat, cyclically repeating this pattern of deja vu as she consumes strawberry ice cream and drives by the beach. This self-referentialism exemplifies Rodrigo’s brilliance both the production of the song and the lyrics engage less with the solemnity accompanied with “Driver’s License” and more with the aggravating comparison between past memories and the repetitive present. Recalling the vivid memories expressed in the first and second verse, Rodrigo literally evokes deja vu in her audience, reusing lyrics to fit her own narrative: “Strawberry ice cream in Malibu/ Don’t act like we didn’t do that s- too/ You’re trading jackets like we used to do/ Yeah everything is all reused.” ![]() The light, ethereal vocals exhibited in the first few verses of the track are replaced by raw emotion, infusing anger and frustration into this continued pattern of “deja vu.” The bridge of the song highlights Rodrigo’s mastery of storytelling within her music. The song’s lyrics question the intimacy of specific moments within a relationship: “So when you gonna tell her that we did that too?/ She thinks it’s special, but it’s all reused.” Simple moments of recollection embedded within the track’s initial lyrics are disrupted by the constant reminder that moments shared with a partner are not intrinsic to one person alone, but are reused within new relationships. The singer also seems to be intertwining elements of her debut single “Driver’s License” within the track, as she drives a car at the start of the music video and constructs a narrative infused with similar emotional depth. By flooding her lyrics with distinct memories, Rodrigo highlights the warmth of vivid moments in time and the grief that later accompanies these recollections when relationships end. Both beautifully written and produced, Rodrigo crafts a gorgeous narrative evident from the song’s first few lyrics: “Car rides to Malibu/ Strawberry ice cream, one spoon for two.” Infused with illuminating sensory detail, the track’s lyrics immediately evoke a sense of familiarity. Her latest single, “Deja Vu,” premiered April 1 along with its respective music video. They don't burn her body so as not to destroy the evidence. So Sam and Dean lay her to rest by making her killer confess and leaving him for the cops. However, she didn't want vengeance, she wanted justice. In the first installment of the Supernatural novel series, Nevermore, while solving the Edgar Allen Poe case, the boys also have to tangle with a banshee for one of Ash's friends. While telling Sam about Lisa Braeden, Dean reminds him of a five-day road trip he took while Sam and John were in Orlando dealing with a banshee.ġ1.11 Into the Mystic Apocrypha Supernatural: Nevermore Sam mentions angiak and banshees as examples of this. Dean agrees it could be a possibility as there are things that are known to latch onto families and follow them for years. But if instead the Banshee during her life was a enemy of the family, the wail is more like the scram of a fiendish ghost, a demonic howling of delight over the coming fatal agony of one of her foes. So, if she loves those whom she call, the wail is soft, tender, soothing chant, intended to either give notice of death's proximity or reassure the one destined to die, or to comfort the survivors. The banshee of legend is actually a disembodied soul, either of someone who in life was strongly attached to the family or who hated all its members. The word is sometimes also used to denote assort of demon, but in Nordic folklore the banshee is always benevolent. Many people have described the terrible wail, which precedes a death, and certain families are traditionally believed to be followed by the Banshee. In that sense, it’s a good practice to take some time to plan the workflow that your Vue app will have and think about which route design fits. The following code example shows this situation in code, where the ProfileView and ProductView are components that fetch data from the API to render beautiful views (profile and product) for every example and its keys (username and id). Vue-router has a nice feature for this situation: Dynamic Routes. What do you think about the URLs in the example? Do they look familiar to you? There are many ways to achieve the same goal and show different profiles and product comments in the same context and style (in some cases). This feature allows you to handle routes that are not statically defined and need to change the content by some keys in the URL structure. Your world becomes that much less safe and your trust levels become less. I don’t think anyone was opposed to me doing it, even if it meant sacrificing their own privacy. When she died, I called her phone because I wanted to hear her voice - it brought this wave of something I hadn’t dealt with. Guilt and regret is a way of trying to get the past back when you’re going through grief. Her thoughts about her body, if she’d be in a relationship again, if I would land on my feet, if we ever got along. The story revolves around me looking for answers, but I couldn’t help but feel an intense amount of sadness, the little things of sadness that she was going through that I didn’t know. Going through her Facebook was this insane amount of empathy. I think part of obsessing over this was a part of bargaining - if I can keep digging and discovering things about her, I never have to deal with her loss. What was it like going through your mom’s Facebook? It’s more about trying to exonerate people and dispel distrust among family members. As the conversations unraveled, we realized this was bigger than just a feature… It was a tough pitch because it was, ultimately, a story about identity and a story about navigating the trauma of an unresolved crime, not a headline for the brutality or dissecting the specifics of the crime. In 2016, we had a little more intention in what we were doing. We quickly realized this was bigger than a short project for documentary class - we didn’t finish the assignment, my professor gave me an A with the condition that I never stop working on this. That eventually turned to grieving Barbara and finding this empathy for all these people in my life. I got addicted to that, I was grieving someone that I didn’t really know and there was this discovery process. She was a superhero to me, but I quickly realized I didn’t know Barbara. When I started, I realized I didn’t know my mom. And before it was too late, I wanted to take a record of what people remembered. The first time I really had an experience telling someone what had happened was in the documentary class, where I felt I was coming out of the fog, out of the shock and drug addiction. 30, 2010, I came back to school - I was in film school when it happened - I didn’t tell anyone. When my mom died, I was a drug addict, I was addicted to opioids, I ran from accepting the world without her.
